Structural slab issues
This home in West Palm Beach had unusual markings/lines running across the main room from wall to wall. I was told it was by design and was wood stain used by the owners. As I conducted my inspection, I looked carefully and noticed the slight swelling in the wood grains. I suspected it was moist so I used an infrared thermal camera then two different moisture detection devices. They all tested positive for active moisture. At the exterior wall, I found two hairline cracks starting from the ground and rising upwards consistent with the locations of the two interior floor cracks. I concluded they are cracks in the slab and probably no vapor barrier under the laminate flooring. The moisture was wicking via capillary action up and through the flooring.
